Well, looks like I’m getting a Switch 2 after all

Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the re-imagining (from what I understand) of the world Pokemon X/Y in the similar way that Pokemon Legends: Arceus was a re-imagining of the world of Pokemon Pearl/Diamond, is supposed to work best on the Switch 2 and… I guess it would be somewhat running somehow on the original Switch, the one that I currently have.

I love Pokemon games, and there's no way I'm not playing this one. Problem is, original Switch, sounds like it's a terrible experience with the game.

But the real, real problem is much worse. I have grandchildren, two of them are twins, and their birthday is next week. There is no way I could buy myself a Switch 2 and not get them one, right?

So, question is, how the heck am I going to afford two of them?

    As tempting as it is I don’t think I’m going to give in this time to their latest console.

        Hey, don’t get me wrong I will always love Pokémon but Nintendo is doing a lot of legal and financial things I strongly disagree with and I don’t want to give them my money anymore if they’re going to continue to attack fans for trying to preserve their older games the only way they can and when they make creations that are nothing but love letters to their IPs.

        Those are excellent objections. And they’ve been going after one of my favorite MMOs, Palworld, with absolutely stupid stuff. Their IP lawyers are out of control.
        This is how they get me. They do a half-assed job on the Switch 1 port of Z-A, and to get the full experience, I need to upgrade.
        I may come to regret this 🙁

        Yeah, I heard about all the bull around them attacking Palworld. To me, it seems that they are just jealous that a smaller company made such a successful game that apparently is full of stuff that Pokémon never delivered. I wish they would just focus on making their games better and what harm would it cause for them to congratulate Pocketpair on their success instead?

        That being said, I am not going to tell anyone to ditch Nintendo, you do you.

    Quick correction: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl were the Diamond and Pearl remakes. That was the last title I played on my Switch Lite. Fun nostalgia, but not enough to keep me interested in a console.

      Yeah; I meant that it was set in the same area as those, and dealt with a lot of the same Pokemon, esp Dialga, Arceus, and the pearl one.
