Rewatched “Prometheus”. I thought it was silly and not scary. Rewatching it, I appreciated the SF-ness and movie making behind the silliness. Weird thing was I remembered some scenes that were not in the version I saw on streaming. ONE of the scenes I found out was from the prequel/sequel, Alien: Covenant.
And so, I am watching Alien: Covenant now. It kinda reminds me of Sunshine, a movie I really liked… until they had the serial killer happen. I guess they needed something to happen, but why that? Apollo 13 ratcheted up the tension with zero serial killers, somehow. I really don’t care about the aliens in the Aliens series. But the setting is really great. But with the aliens — reminds me of those endless Jurassic Park movies. We see new dinosaurs, then they eat people, but we went to the movie to see the dinosaurs. Didn’t really need the eating. Just my ignorant opinion.
Just rewatched Inglorious Basterds and I hadn’t forgotten how much I love that movie. Kasul was being dismissive, as he doesn’t watch movies unless I tie him down and force him to watch one 🙂
I dunno. I love movies. I’ll watch pretty much anything, pretty much.
Project: Hail Mary is gonna be great. Cool space stuff, but I know from reading the book several times that there are no serial killer aliens.
