I just got the notice, just now, that DarkQuest 4 has just been released on Steam. This series, always influenced by the popular board game, has been gradually finding its own identity apart from HeroQuest, while still providing the tactical flavor.
I played the demo quite a bit earlier in the year. I enjoyed replaying the fairly short individual adventures over and over until I’d perfected them. I’m really considering getting the full game; it’s either that, or haul out my many HeroQuest The Actual Board Game expansions and use the HeroQuest app to guide me through adventures I already have, though naturally that would mean setting it all up and tearing it all down. One of the advantages digital games have. They are just there for you.
There’s every chance my family game group will demand some other game after we finish HeroQuest: First Light, and I once again won’t get a chance to play the expansions… DQ4 could be the answer.
